Admissions Criteria
Children who are not normally resident in Northern Ireland will not be considered for places until all children who live in Northern Ireland have been considered.
The Management Committee have determined that, in the event of there being more applicants than places available the following criteria will be applied, in the order set down, to select children for the available places.
| 1. | Children born between 2nd July 2006 and August 2006 whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are in receipt of Income-based Jobseekers allowance or Income Support. |
| 2. | Children born between 1 September 2006 and 1st July 2007 whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are in receipt of Income-based Jobseekers allowance or Income Support. |
| 3. | Children born between 2nd July 2006 and 31st August 2006. |
| 4. | Children born between 1st September 2006 and July 2007. |
If there are more children satisfying the last criterion, which can be applied, then selection for the remaining places will be on the basis of:
| I. | Children already attending the Playgroup. |
| II. | The Playgroup was selected as 1st preference by the parent(s)/guardian(s). |
| III. | Children referred by Social Services, Health Visitor or other professional. |
| IV. | Sibling currently/previously attended (brother/sister/half brother/half sister/fostered/adopted). |
| V. | Those who live closest to the Playgroup. |
| VI. | Child of staff member or Committee member. |
Clothing
Clothing
Parents are asked to ensure children have a full spare set of clothing at Playgroup. Clothing should be comfortable and fully washable as children engage in experimental and exploration play activities (involving a variety of messy materials, both inside and out). Their clothes should also be loose enough to allow children to dress and undress independently at toileting.
Shoes
It is important that your child wears comfortable, soft shoes (preferably trainers with Velcro straps) at all times, as physical activities take place everyday. This will enable children to take part in all activities with confidence and help prevent injuries
Sweatshirts
Polo and Sweatshirts with our logo are available from Hicks Clothes in Lisnaskea (near Northern Bank). The wearing of a uniform is optional and we encourage parents to make a choice that suits their needs.
